This book is good reading for beginning to advanced photographers. Michael Freeman introduces the reader to a different way of evaluating exposure using only 12 different scenarios. You do not need to memorize the scenarios once you understand the process. This book is worth the price ($20 to $30 depending on where you get it).

Tone mapping using the details enhancer in Photomatix Pro 3 can be a confusing prospect. How are you supposed to know what settings to use on each of the many controls?
