Mission:
The primary objective of the Greeting Host is to welcome members as they arrive at monthly meetings. The Greeting Host does hold a voting position on the Loveland Photographic Society (LPS) Board of Directors, and should make every effort to attend all board meetings (six scheduled per year: first Tuesday of odd months) to help direct the club in the decision making process.
Basic Duties:
- To make current members, new members, and guests feel welcome at LPS monthly meetings.
- To help guests fill out a visitor sign-in, answer their questions, and direct them to the meeting room.
- To direct persons wishing to become a new member to the membership chair or to the website.
Time Commitment:
There is no set time commitment. The chair should attend monthly meetings or find someone willing to perform the duties in their absence. The chair should maintain the cart with name tags (membership makes permanent tags), brochures, etc. and set these up at the welcome desk each meeting.
Benefits:
Making members, potential new members, and guests feel welcome helps the club gain and retain membership. Be a spokesperson for the club and know what activities are available. Personal benefits include getting to greet and meet members.
